Alright, so we all know it’s getting close to that time of the year again. The time when all the stores are filled with lovey dovey stuff. Yup Valentine’s Day, a day when everyone celebrates love. Personally, I like to celebrate love every day. With that being said, I am starting a new series called “The Beauty of Love” for this Valentine’s day season.

In this mini series I will be sharing outfit ideas for Valentine’s Day but in addition to outfit inspo, I will also be sharing about the beauty of love from different perspectives!

The Beauty of Love: Family

Love is something so beautiful and often times hard to understand. There are different types of love. There’s love for your family, friends and your partner. The love for family is something so strong and unbreakable. In my case, my parents and siblings are the people I learned to love first. It’s a beautiful thing when you know for certain that no matter what happens in your life, you will always have your family’s love to lean on. This Valentine’s Day season (and every day for that matter) don’t forget about the people who have been there from the very beginning, your family.

This apricot dress is just perfect for Valentine’s day. The lace detail gives it a romantic vibe that I am obsessed with!

 I decided to style this dress with a pair of wedges and a black crossbody.

To add a pop of color a wore my fave pink matte lipstick !

   Although, the top of the dress has a lot of details I felt like I was missing something. I added this gorgeous pink choker. I love how it just casually sits without being too overbearing or taking attention away from the peter pan collar.

Getting out of a funk

Hello lovelies,

Happy Sunday!! I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. Mine was great, I am back in school so I am getting back in the swing of a busy schedule.

Today I wanted to talk a little about what I have been going through. Over the past few days I’ve been planning and working on creating content for the blog but I kept getting stuck. I felt like I was in a “funk,” it’s not that I was not motivated but I had been feeling uninspired and truly (if I am being 100% RAW with you guys) just going through the motions. I was like, “okay it’s Wednesday or Sunday, gotta get something up on the blog”.

I kept asking myself what is wrong with me? This is my passion why do I keep getting stuck. It was bothering me so much, it was becoming all that I could think of. Until finally I was like you know what I am going to stop thinking about this and let God guide me. I stopped allowing the thought of what I was going to post about next to consume me. Then, as I was sitting here working on homework, it came to me! And here I am sharing (through a blog post) with you guys how I got out of this funk. This was not a planned post, I did not go out and shoot cute pictures for it.

I feel like that’s the beautiful thing about this. The funk that I allowed to stress me and make me feel like I wasn’t doing things right was what actually helped me see things in a different perspective.

That’s just how life is. When we get stuck in a rut it can be so easy to dwell on it and let it consume us, but there’s also another option. You can choose to take what you are going through and allow it to be an inspiration to others.

So today, if you are going through something that you feel like you can’t get out of, I want to encourage you to take a deep breathe, take a step back and look at the bigger picture. There is always a testimony that comes out of a test.

How to style Baseball Caps + Heels

Happy Sunday! Hope you all had a great weekend! I truly enjoyed the last weekend before my final semester of my undergraduate career ends!

You guys, I am beyond excited for the next few months to go by. I am ready to walk across the stage and say “I DID IT!.” It has definitely been a long and tough journey but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel ✨

Today I wanted to share how I style a simple baseball cap in a chic street style way. The cap is so perfect for those days when you don’t feel like doing your hair (come on you know you’ve had them before 😉).

You can easily go for a pair of jeans, tee and some sneakers. But if you want to add a little more sass to your look you can pair it with a comfy pair of heels.

I picked a slouchy sweater to add the off the shoulder style and a distressed pair of jeans. This totally screams STREET STYLE VIBES. It is so easy to put this outfit together with simple pieces that you probably already have in your closet.

For accessories I kept it simple. I used a nude choker that matched my heels, my go-to saddle bag, a rose gold watch and my fave pair of sunnies.

So whether you are out and about running errands, on a date with your boo or out with the girls, you can easily recreate this chic street style look.

How to slay while showing off school spirit

Happy Wednesday! Hope all is well and that you are all off to a great week. Today I am doing something a little different but fun! I have started a new series called #SignalStyle with University of Houston-Clear Lake’s newspaper “The Signal.” This week I decided to do a video for #SignalStyle on how to show off school spirit and still look fab.

Now I know that being in college can be stressful and trying to look “fab” is the last thing on your list and that’s totally understandable. Sometimes a simple spirit tee and shorts or jeans may be enough but on those days when you do feel like adding that extra oomph to your #OOTD you may wonder,”well how can I slay while showing off school spirit?” that’s easy!

Here are a few tips that work for me. My university’s school colors are green and blue and trust me when I tell you it is possible to create a fab look even with colors that normally block each other such as blue and green. The key is to be subtle with one color while letting the other color stand out, this will let the look blend perfectly together.

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all are having a great week! I have had an overwhelmingly amazing last few days! I have been working on new content for the blog and YouTube channel, I can’t wait to share with you guys! Speaking of exciting things last Friday I got to meet the one and only Eva Longoria! She is the sweetest and is absolutely gorgeous!

Eva Longoria held an event at The Limited at the Houston Galleria, where she showcased her new clothing line. And let me just say it is absolutely amazing! Her idea for the collection was to be able to wear the items to work and then later unwind with some wine 😉 it is PERFECTION.

I am so in love with her whole collection so making a list of my top fave looks was so hard but I managed to get it done!

The PERFECT transitional dress

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all had a great Labor Day Weekend with your loved ones! I did a lot of eating and lounging around on Monday, best way to celebrate Labor Day 😉

As you all know we are quickly approaching the time of the year where it’s all about PUMPKIN SPICE everything! I am excited for all of the fall trends this season and even more excited about pumpkin spice everything! Now I know we aren’t fully into fall yet but that doesn’t mean you can’t start adding fall pieces to your wardrobe!

This is the perfect transition dress that I actually purchased at the beginning of summer at Charlotte Russe. It is no longer in stock but I found some very similar ones here and here, they are on sale so that’s always a plus!

Since I live in Houston, the weather can be a bit bipolar at times. In many places it may be a little chillier in September but here it tends to still be a little on the warmer side. Therefore, I think this cold shoulder dress is perfect if you want to get in the fall vibes but it’s still a little too hot and humid where you live. When I wore this dress that was the exact weather conditions so I decided to wear these heels from JustFab but for cooler days you can totally add some booties like these.

How to wear: Shirt tied around your waist trend

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all are having a great week so far! I have had a more relaxed, stress-free week and I am not complaining 😉

For today’s look, I am going to show you how I rock the “shirt tied around your waist” trend. This trend is so cute and automatically adds some sass to your look. There are many ways to rock this trend. My absolute favorite is pairing it with dresses and skirts! My recommendation is to wear bodycon dresses and skirts to make the look more put together. You can either dress it up or down, it is a versatile trend. you can wear plaid shirts or solid colored shirts it is totally up to you. In most of my looks I wear plaid but I also like the solid colors. I’ll go into outfit details below!

For the first look, I wore this on an overcast day. I went for neutral colors. The striped shirt, flannel and nude skirt are from Forever21. The heeled booties are from Target

I love mixing and matching different prints. For this look I went with this black and white striped bodycon dress. The taupe purse is from JustFab and the shoes are the same as the previous look.

This look is what I like to call Casual Chic! I am obsessed with it, it’s perfect for a day when you’ll be doing lots of walking. The top is from Target (it was only like 10 bucks). The skirt I recently purchased at Forever21 and it is on SALE for only $6.90!! The jean jacket is from Old Navy. The sneakers are from Calvin Klein.

The final look is perfect for a lazy Sunday! The t-shirt is actually a men’s shirt but I love wearing it as a t-shirt dress, it is from Pacsun. The flannel is from Target. The white sandals have been my summer obsession and they are from JustFab.

Happy Wednesday! I hope you all are off to a great week. I know most schools in Texas started the 2016-2017 school year, so I hope it hasn’t been too hectic for ya! Speaking of hectic I’ve had a few hectic and stressful weeks but thank God it’s nothing I can’t overcome. Also, I’ve been thinking of writing more personal posts just about what’s going on in my life or how I get through certain times in life. What do ya’ll think? For this week’s fashion post, I went for an all black look with a pop of color. This look is perfect for a casual weekend with friends or your special someone 😉 The shirt dress is from H&M, they have similar ones here. This shirt dress is a must-have in your wardrobe, it can be dressed up or down for any occasion. The crossbody is from Kate Spade ♠︎  it’s my fave at the moment!

Now…for the POP OF COLOR, these have been my favorite pair of flats lately, I mean come on what’s not to love about them!? The color RED is perfect, for any season. It automatically adds a vibrant style to the look no matter what you’re wearing! I purchased this from JustFab but they are no longer in stock 😦 you can find similar ones here 🙂
