Denim on Denim done right

Happy Hump Day! I hope that you all had a wonderful Valentine’s day with the people you love! My boo and I not only celebrated Valentine’s Day, we also celebrated our fur baby’s 8th birthday 🙂

Today I wanted to share how I style denim on denim. This trend has been ongoing for a few months and I don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon (I am totally okay with that).

There are seriously so many different ways to style denim on denim without it being too overbearing. My absolute favorite is keeping it simple and adding a pop of color. It’s perfect for any occasion. I think a perfect way to balance wearing denim on denim is to use two different shade. This also helps the pieces stand out while also blending perfectly together.

For this look I chose a lighter denim off the shoulder top. I love that the ruffle detail adds a girly vibe to the entire look.

The darker shade on the jeans makes for a beautiful contrast between the top and bottoms.

Now you know I had to add a fun color to the whole mix!😉 I am seriously obsessed with these velvet pair of pumps. They totally add some glam to the whole look!

The brown wooden watch goes perfectly with this look! I had to tie the whole look together with my go-to handbag and fave pair of sunnies 😎

As always just have fun with it and as long as you feel confident in what you’re wearing, who cares about the rules 😜

New Year’s Eve Outfit Ideas

Happy Wednesday! I can’t believe Christmas is over and gone 😦 This means it’s time to start preparing for the New Year 😮

This year seriously flew by! Ahhh. Have you planned what you are wearing for your New Year’s Eve party or gathering? I have created two lovely looks for the NYE celebrations. I’m still not sure which one of the two to wear. Let me know which one is your fave 🙂

The first look includes a gorgeous white and gold dress. It is perfect for any event where you have to dress up (specially NYE parties).

Although the dress is beautiful on its own, I decided to pair it with these pumps from Steve Madden. Velvet anything is my current obsession and these pumps are sure to be the center of attention!

It is also very important to pick the perfect accessories for your NYE festivities. I chose to wear my favorite bracelet and watch paired with my black handbag (it’s tiny but so many things fit and it’s super convenient).

The second look is so classy! I am obsessed with it! This shimmery swing dress is perfect for NYE.

For accessories, I used the bracelet I wore in the first outfit as a choker (isn’t it awesome that it doubles as a choker!?). And kept the same rose gold watch and black handbag.

I decided to keep the heels a neutral color to allow the dress to be the center of attention for this look!

The perfect Winter floral + bell sleeve dress

Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a great weekend. I can’t believe Christmas is exactly ONE week away! I am not even done Christmas shopping ahhhh! So much to do, so little time!

Today I wanted to share this cute floral bell sleeve dress (who says you can’t wear florals in the Winter time?!). Winter season is officially here in 3 days! So I thought it would be perfect to show you how I styled my dress 🙂

The perfect thing about this dress is that though it has floral print on it the colors are very subtle and can be transitioned into a winter look. I love the detail on the neckline!

I styled it with my OTK boots, who else is obsessed with a good pair of boots?! I think this pair goes perfect with the dress. Since they are over the knee boots the cover most of your legs and keep you warmer on those cold days/nights. Shades of Green | Outfit of the Day

Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a great weekend! I had a very relaxing weekend (no more homework yay!). I am so ready for the holiday break! Who’s with me? I have so many fun things planned for the blog + YouTube so stay tuned for that 🙂 Make sure you’re following my blog so you won’t miss out 😉

Today I wanted to share this cute and chic outfit of the day. I love putting together an outfit with one color in two or more different shades. In this case the color I picked was green. It is also perfect for this season! My green sweater is from Cotton On purchased last season but you can find similar ones here and here. The green knit skirt is from Forever21 it is on SALE now 50% off so check it out ;). On my lips I wore Maybelline’s Color Sensational in the shade Blissful Berry. The choker was made by me 😉

To keep the shades of green balanced I decided to pair it with my nude wedges and my Kate Spade crossbody. This look can seriously be worn for any occasion. I wore this for church, brunch and running errands today! The wedges are perfect for busy days because they are so comfy and you won’t get tired throughout the day but you can totally opt for some nude flats if you want 🙂

A Sunday well spent…

Happy Sunday! I hope you all had a great and relaxing weekend. It was pretty chilly and wet here in Houston, which I actually appreciated. I was able to bring out some of my cozy outfits. 🙂

In today’s post I wanted to share a little bit about how I prepare for the beginning of a new week. I know for many us Sunday is a bittersweet day because that means the Monday is coming. But that doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing 😉

The saying “A Sunday well spent brings a week of content” is something I live by. I absolutely agree with it! This is why I love Sundays so much. The way you spend your Sunday will set the tone for the rest of the week. For me a must every Sunday is going to church. That alone brings a breath of fresh air into my life. Usually after church my boo & I go grab something to eat (we love trying new places to eat).  Then we do something we enjoy, i.e. walking at the park, watching a movie, relaxing, shop or grab some coffee.

At the end of the day I like to gather all my thoughts and plans for the week and write them down on my planner to make sure I don’t get side tracked. So whatever it is you enjoy doing DO IT!

Wearing Jumpsuits in the Fall

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all have had a great week so far. It’s always hard to readjust after a long holiday break for me. I’m literally counting down till Christmas break! It’s finals week for me this week and I am so ready to wrap up my second to last semester 👏

For today’s look I wanted to share a gorgeous jumpsuit I picked up in early September (they are no longer in stock but you can find similar ones here)! I love the jumpsuit trend but I could never find one that fit just that way I wanted! Seriously, the struggle was real. I finally got my hands on this one and I love how they fit. First off, the olive color is perfect for Fall. Second, pairing it with a burgundy cardigan and hat just adds to the Fall vibes 🍁🍂.

My cardi is from Aeropostale (purchased last year) but any burgundy cardi works just fine! My hat is from Marshalls and it was ONLY $8.99!!! My heels are from JustFab 😉

I think this a perfect outfit for casual holiday parties you may be attending. Or casual brunch with your girls.

How I stay positive + Fall OOTD

Happy Sunday!! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine flew by! The good thing is that I am officially on Thanksgiving break! I am using this week to unwind, relax and enjoy time with loved ones <3.

The past few weeks have been very overwhelming for me. With school, work, trying to keep up with my blog and just life in general. Sometimes it gets hard to deal with so many things that life throws at you and it can be hard to stay positive through the process. Unfortunately it is impossible to avoid hardships and struggles in life but it is the process that makes us who God intended us to be. There is a season for everything in life and hard times are bound to come, the important thing is that we remain positive throughout these times.

Today I wanted to share a few tips on how I deal with difficult seasons in my life and remain positive through it all. I hope this inspires you!

1. Surround yourself with positive people. This is highly important to maintain a happy & positive life you have to surround yourself with positive people. Whether it’s your family, friends or partner find your squad and stick to them. They will help you through the hard times.
2. Try to focus on at least one good thing going on in your life. Don’t give your problem the attention it seeks. Instead focus on all the other amazing things going on in your life.
3. Start your day with a positive thought. For me reading a scripture or inspirational quote every morning instantly lightens up my day. My favorite scripture to read when I am going through a tough time is Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 
4. Remember that everything lasts for a moment. I can remember many times where I thought I would never overcome a certain hardship or struggle. Now I look back and realize that if I wouldn’t have gone through that hard season, I wouldn’t be the strong person I am now.
5. Focus on doing things you enjoy. For me hanging out with my family, going for walks with my boyfriend, going out for a cup of coffee, blogging and spending time alone to refocus helps a lot.

Happy Sunday! Hope you all are off to a great week. As I sit here typing up this post I am watching football cause ya’ll know we’re all about it or at least strong supporters lol (Check out my previous post for more on that 😉 ). Anyway, I meant to post this look Friday but things got way too busy towards the end of the week, so I apologize for that. Let’s get right into the look 🙂

Today’s look is absolutely one of my favorites! It is perfect for fall. It is a mix of casual and edgy all in one. I love the detail in the crop top, it is so pretty. The dark green skirt is perfect for the fall days. The piece that makes this look “edgy ” is the faux leather jacket from Forever 21. You can wear it on your shoulders like I did or put it on (it’s all about your preference). Since most of the colors I am wearing are darker I decided to add a fun bright pink color on the lips. Tailgating + Football Outfit Ideas

Happy Wednesday! Hope you are all off to a great week. All is well on this end. So this week I want to talk about something fun. As you all know football season is in and we are all about it  (even if I don’t understand what’s going on half the time) lol.
